Dorothy Marie Crump
Dorothy Marie Crump, daughter of the Gilbert Lee Mills and Lesta Mae Haddock was born on September 26, 1932 in Lowndes, Missouri and departed this life on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at her residence in Chaffee at the age of 87 years.
Mrs. Crump was the owner and operator of Dot’s Hair Styles for many years, member of the First Baptist Church in Chaffee, past Ladies Auxiliary President V.F.W. Post #3127, and past Ladies Auxiliary President American Legion Post #389. Dorothy was a former Driver in the Powder Puff Derby and a very faithful companion to “Calli Cat”.
On December 4, 1951 she was united in marriage to Ernest Paul Crump. Mr. Crump preceded her in death on July 1, 2010.
Survivors include one son, Ernie (Teresa) Crump of Chaffee, Missouri; by four daughters, Deborah (Steve) Hawks of Mt. Grove, Missouri, Paula Moit of Chaffee, Missouri, Peggy (Mark) Uhrhan of Pocahontas, Missouri, and Kathy (Bobby) Sexton of Chaffee; by nine grandchildren, Chad (Kristi) Uhrhan, Matt (Jessica) Uhrhan, Charlie Moit, Trey (Sarah) Crump, Nick (Sarah) Crump Cory Crump, Elizabeth (Daniel) Edwards, Elaine Sexton and fiancé Austin Carroll; eight great-grandchildren, Bailey Crump, Lihah Crump, Luke Crump, Connor Edwards, Noah Uhrhan, Zachary Uhrhan, Mark Uhrhan, and Carter Uhrhan.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ramona Mills and Sarah Biler; by one brother, Dennis Mills; also, by one granddaughter, Amanda Uhrhan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. American Legion Auxiliary Post # 389 rites service will be a 7:00 P.M. Monday evening. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Chaffee with Rev. Josh Boley officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
