William T. "Tom" Penrose, Jr., son of the late William “Bill” Penrose Sr. and Wanda Mae (Smith) Penrose was born on August 19, 1948 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed his life on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at his residence in Advance, Missouri at the age of 75 years.
He was of the Baptist faith and a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War from 1968-1972 on the USS Praine, USS Warden, and DD Rholan. He was a life member of VFW Post 3127 in Chaffee. Tom and his brother, John, owned and operated Penrose Bros Garage. He was a former mechanic with Sam Tanksley also Tom, owned and operated Penrose Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a former member of Teamsters Local Union 642 test/repair pipeline and Taum Sauk Mountain with local 600. Lastly Tom was a truck driver USF Holland-Dugan and Lee-Beth trucking. Tom was an avid Fisherman and Nascar Fan. He loved spending time with his family and meeting up with his friends to visit while enjoying a cold Budweiser!
On July 27, 1974 he was united in marriage to Brenda Tubbs in Benton, Missouri. Mrs. Penrose survives of the home in Advance.
Besides his wife, survivors include one daughter, Stephanie (Darin) McFerron of Chaffee; one brother, John (Deloma) Penrose of Benton; two sisters, Betty Milam of Lambert, Missouri and Darlene (Ron) Oller of Commerce, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kaitlin McFerron (Cole Moxley), Austin (Hannah) McFerron, and Hayden McFerron; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Moxley and Talulah Moxley; one step-sister, Kathy Ellison of Nixa, Missouri; also, by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, C.O. Penrose; and by one brother-in-law, Noble Milam Sr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral services will then be conducted at 7:00 PM in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee with Eric Laffoon officiating.
Private family burial will be later at Forrest Hills Memorial Garden near Morley.
Memorials can be made in care of the Penrose family to be designated to the charity of there choice. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
