William Coomer, son of the late Rufus Coomer and Alma (Wondel) Coomer was born on July 27, 1936 in Arbor, Missouri and departed his life on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 88 years.
He was a former truck driver for ABF Trucking for 50 years, member of the Lake Girardeau Assembly of God Church, and a resident of Whitewater, Missouri.
On November 27, 1993 he was united in marriage to Dickie Blevins. Mrs. Coomer survives of the home in Whitewater.
Along with his wife, survivors include five sons, Shawn (Callie) Coomer, Rodney Coomer, Mark (Pam) Williams, Kent Williams and Bucky Gooch; five brothers, three sisters, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, also, by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Coomer and by one brother.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 11:00 until 1:00 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 with Rev. Nathan Riney officiating.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Family has requested that memorials by made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Envelopes will be provided during visitation at the funeral home.
