Wanda Lee Tankersley

Wanda Tankersley, daughter of the late Luther Sullivan and Mary Jane Carner Sullivan was born on July 4, 1939 in Princeton, Kentucky and departed her life on Monday, August 15, 2022 in the Chaffee Nursing Center at the age of 83 years.

She was of the Baptist faith, former employee at Florsheim, Thorngate, Tri-Con, and Chaffee Public Schools.  Mrs. Tankersley was President of Thrift Shopping, Yard Selling, and the CEO of BK Senior Discount.

On August 13, 1957 she was united in marriage to Bobby Gene Tankersley in Hernando, Mississippi.  Mr. Tankersley preceded her in death on December 27, 2011.

Survivors include two sons, Robert (Celinda) Tankersley of       Marble Hill, Missouri and Scott (Beth) Tankersley of Chaffee; two daughters, Jeannie (David) Groves of Garner, Kansas and Tina (Jimmie) Tankersley of Sikeston; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, three brothers, three sisters, and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10:00 until 1:00 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.  Funeral services will then be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Danny Tankersley and Rev. Patrick Tankersley officiating.   Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery at Perkins, Missouri.
