Wanda Mcgee

Wanda J. McGee, born Wanda Jeanne Douglass on February 16, 1958 in Chickasha, OK to Roy Cecil Douglass and Birdie Kilbourn, passed away peacefully in Chaffee, MO on February 9, 2021.

Wanda was a simple woman who led a modest, nomadic lifestyle. She had a big heart and found happiness in bringing joy to others. She enjoyed homemaking and especially loved to whip up goulash in the kitchen. She preferred preparing homecooked meals but would go out to eat when persuaded by her children. She would often critique the food and make suggestions for improvement. She once even brought her own sauce to Pasta House as she preferred her sauce to theirs.

Most importantly, Wanda loved her family.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, always making sure to send them home with plenty of candy.  She loved playing Candy Crush and other games on her phone with an unsweet tea at her side. She deeply embraced her Native American heritage and loved collecting points, dream catchers, and various other native items. Her other interests included a large variety of oldies music, reality shows, crafting/repurposing, and fishing.

Wanda is survived by her 4 sisters: Donna Massey, Kimberly Burton, Debbie Crump Shaw, and Pamela Martin; her 5 Children: Michael Griffin, Michelle Dudley, Martin Whiteside, Marc Whiteside, and Myles Douglass; as well as 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Wanda is preceded in death by her mother and father, nephew, Joe Phillips, and late husband, Albert McGee.

Wanda will be cremated and her service will be attended by family and close friends privately in the months to come. Please reach out to Myles Douglass for information about attending the service at: 314.745.2282.
