Virgie Brant

Virgie Ann (Toots) Brant, 88 of Kelso, Missouri died Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born November 26, 1930 in Scott City to Ben and Olivia Scherer LeDure. She married Clarence J. Brant on January 18, 1964 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2007.
Virgie enjoyed working in her yard and loved animals. She also worked in her early years for Buckstein Pants Factory in Chaffee. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Sodality.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine (Jerry) Heuring of Kelso; granddaughter, Wendy (Craig) Pennington and their daughter Lily of Kelso; a stepson, Terry (Sue) Brant of Council Grove, Kansas and his children, Julie Brant of Kelso and Kacie (Nick) Guttilla of Mississippi; step-great grandchildren Ethan and Owen; three sisters, Arvella Robert of Kelso, Beatrice ( Aaron) Proffer and Norma Jean (Herb) Holder of Scott City and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Sunday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Normand Varone as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Augustine Building Fund.
