Vida E. Eby

Vida E. Eby, 94, of Whitewater went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 06, 2019 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Dec. 27, 1924 in Loretto, Tennessee to the late James David and Emma Alice Pugh Taylor. She married James A. Eby on July 4, 1941 at LaForge, Missouri and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2004.

Vida was a retired factory worker in Chaffee. She was a member of General Baptist Church in Chaffee.

She is survived by a son, Mike “Al” (Sheila) Eby of Whitewater; a daughter, Sue Traw of Chaffee; a sister, Irena Stringfellow of Chaffee; three grandchildren, Bryan (Sherri) Traw of Jackson; Mike (Julie) Eby II and Michelle (Alan) Ikerman both of Whitewater; four great-grandchildren, Blake Traw, Gwyneth, Julia and Hannah Ikerman.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Estes, Earnest, Bose, Zeb and Junior Taylor; a sister, Exia Dolan and a son-in-law, Paul Traw.

Friends may call after 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am on Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am at Chapel with Rev. Bob Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
