Verna Turpin

Verna Turpin, daughter to the late Mary Loflin Oldham and Jeff Oldham was born on March 4, 1952, in Indiana and departed this life on January 21, 2025, at The Lutheran Home – Assisted Living & Nursing Care in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 72 years.

She was formerly a Certified Nursing Assistant who worked for Perry Oak’s Nursing home until retirement and a former resident of Old Appleton, Missouri.

Verna married Charles Frank Turpin on January 25, 1968, and he survives of the home.

Besides her husband Charles, she is survived by three sons, Charles (Brandi) Turpin of Scopus, Missouri; John (Soona) Turpin Sr. of Old Appleton, Missouri; Christopher (Samantha) Turpin of Marble Hill, Missouri; two daughters, Evelyn "Sue" Gilbert of Old Appleton, Missouri and Stella (Alan) Judd of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; a sister, Debbie Turner of Virginia; Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, John David Turpin, Jr.; Joey Frederick Turpin who passed away in 2015; a sister, Betty Brown.

There will be no services.
