Thurston Patterson “Bud” Farmer, Jr., 93 of Scott City, Missouri died Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born March 4, 1926 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Thurston Patterson and Emma Lee McAfee Farmer.
He was a self-employed actuary. He served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant in Japan during World War II.
He was a good dad and provider who loved to travel and took us on many vacations.
He is survived by a son, John (Pily) Farmer of Mexico City, Mexico; a daughter, Nancy (Ken) Strong of Scott City; a sister, Elizabeth Myers of Kansas City, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Johnathon Farmer, Andrew Strong, Kareena ( Matt) Slakey, Virginia (David) Morris, Daniel (Brittney) Strong, Charles Farmer and Ian Farmer; eight great-grandchildren and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Father’s Arms Fellowship in Scott City.
Burial will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors.
