Thomas Brashear, son of the late Clarence “Pack” Brashear and Sherma (Nation) Brashear was born on March 2, 1951 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed his life on Monday, September 2, 2024 at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 73 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving in the Vietnam War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #5368 in Morley, Missouri. He was a former employee of the Carpenters Union in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and a self-employed Carpenter until his retirement. On July 15, 1970 he was united in marriage to Sharon Menz in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She survives of the home in Oran. Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Tony Brashear and Travis Brashear both of Oran; one sister, Sondra (Charles) Trankler of Oran; six grandchildren, Joey, Jake, Alexa, Caroline, Tyler, and Colten; also, by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dick and Danny Brashear. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date with full military services. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
