Steven Schott

Steven Schott, son of Anthony “A.J.” Schott and Helen Mae Ressel Schott of Kelso, Missouri was born on May 17, 1965 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed his life suddenly on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at his residence in Kelso.

He was a 1983 graduate of Notre Dame, employee of Morley Building Supply, and member of the Masonic Chaffee Lodge #615. Steven primarily an outfielder, wound up having a 20-year career playing for elite teams, which led to him participating in tournaments throughout America, Canada, and New Zealand.  He was selected to ISC All-World Team four times, played on six ISC World Champion squads, is a 10-time ASA All-American and is a 3-time member of the USA Softball Team.  Steven excelled at the highest levels of ASA fast pitch softball.  He was a nine-time All-American at Men’s Major nationals and was part of three ASA national Championship teams.  His teams won the Missouri ASA State title each year from 1988 to 1991. He was a medalist at the 1995 Pan-American games and was named to the 2004 USA National team and was inducted into the Missouri ASA Hall of Fame in 2010, and the ISC 2013 Hall of Fame. He was also an avid Hunter, Fisherman, and enjoyed going to his cabin at Castor River.

Besides his parents, A.J. and Helen Schott of Kelso; other survivors include one daughter, Danielle (Logan) Stoddard of Republic, Missouri; one brother, Jeff (Angie) Schott of Kelso; one sister, Sandy (Robert) Greer of Benton; three grandchildren, Haden James Stoddard, Adalynn Stoddard, and Stetson Stoddard; one nephew, Austin Greer; by two nieces, Britney Ackman and Mariah Schott; also, by three great nephews, Kade and his soon to be brother, and Lincoln.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.  Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.
