Shannon Wade Kelso

Shannon Kelso, son of Pam (Arnold) Kelso of Fruitland, Missouri and the late Robert Wade “Bob” Kelso was born on January 20, 1972 in Chaffee, Missouri and departed his life on Monday, December 2, 2024 at his daughter’s residence in Morley, Missouri at the age of 52 years.

He worked on the riverboat for 25 years and was formally employed with American Commercial Barge Line as a Chief Engineer. Shannon was a light in the dark for many. He enjoyed making everyone around him laugh. He had many hobbies including drag racing, building model cars, collecting arrow heads, and building Mopar’s. He was affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Chaffee and a resident of Morley.

Besides his mother, survivors include one son, Garrett Kelso of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two daughters Sharyn Briahn Kennedy of Chaffee and Sydney Kelso of Morley; five grandchildren, Kaiden Kennedy, Mitchell Kennedy, and Xannah Kennedy, Theodore Kelso, and Landon Kelso; one sister, Jessica Hicks of Fruitland; grandmother, Barbara Arnold of Chaffee; One uncle, David Kelso of Scott City; also, by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.  Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee with Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
