Ruth Ann Spies

Ruth “Ruthie” Eftink Spies, daughter of Verneda Hopper and the late Clyde Eftink was born on July 16, 1962 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed her life on December 25, 2024 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee at the age 62 years.

She was a former waitress at Cracker Barrel in Cape Girardeau over 20 years, was recently a cook at Oran Kwik Stop. Ruthie was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, honorary member of the Oran Jaycees, and was famous for working the fish fry and her macaroni and cheese.

Survivors include her mother Verneda (Merle) Hopper; one son, Eric Spies; one daughter, Julie (Kurt) Prindle; sister, Carol (Glen) Beussink; three grandchildren, Devon Prindle, Chloe (Kody) Enderle, and Reecelynn Spies; two great-grandchildren, Brynlee Prindle and Poppie Jo Enderle; also, by other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Saint Francis Hospice and Chaffee Nursing Center for the great care and support.

Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 9:00 until 10:00 AM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.  Funeral Mass will then be conducted at 10:00 AM in the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating.  Interment will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
