Ronald Namon Lemonds, 88, of Delta, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Saturday, August 26th, at home in Omaha, Nebraska.
Beloved husband to Wanda for 66 years, father to Keith, Randy, Susie and Richie. He is reunited with his wife and his two sons who went before him, Randy and Keith. What a glorious reunion it was.
He was “Paw Paw” with a pocket full of candy to 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Cherished baby brother to 7 siblings, and fun Uncle Ron to many nieces and nephews. The last to go, he is reunited with his siblings again.
Ronald was born December 13, 1934, in Kennett, Missouri, to Louie Elmer Lemonds and Goldie Ethel (Matheny). Wanda and Ronald Lemonds were married June 21, 1952.
Ronald attended Fairview General Baptist church in Advance, MO.
Survivors include; a daughter Rhonda (Susie) Lemonds of Honey Creek, Iowa; a son Richard Lemonds of Omaha; eleven grandchildren, Becky Ivester of Chaffee, Jackie (Nate) Meisinger of Louisville, NE, Justin (Nicole) Lemonds of Elkhorn, NE, Rodney Lemonds of St Louis, MO, Robby (Jennifer) Lemonds of Benton, MO, Katie (Sam) Bouchoucha of Tampa, FL, Kevin Bartels of Columbus, OH, Cody (Brittany) Frohock of Cape Girardeau, Brayden Glueck of Chaffee, Jeff (Melissa) Wood of Garden, MI, Stacy (Brian) Roach of Lapeer, MI; 16 great-grandchildren: Brandon, Trevor, Tyler, Morgan, Madi, Rylan, Mallory, Sam, Lena, Rylynn, Dalton, Broden, Wyatt, Hayden, Whitley, and Calvin.
He was a God-fearing man, a farmer by trade, and the proprietor of Lemonds Grocery, a small rural grocery store and gas station in Delta, Missouri, for almost 50 years. He always let his grandchildren have “one thing” a day from the store and it was a cherished tradition. Family was everything to him. Sundays were sacred. He will be missed.
