Ronald Louis Burger, 79 of Scott City, Missouri died Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born August 22, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Louis Charles and Anna Marie Enderle Burger. He married Karen Sue Throop on July 6, 1963.
Ron was a farmer and feed lot salesman, Realtor and Auctioneer. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, St. Augustine Mens Club, Missouri and National Pork Producers, Knights of Columbus Council 6420, St. Joseph 4 th Degree Assembly 2283, Lifetime 4H Leader, Swine Director for 4H at SEMO District Fair, donated his time as Auctioneer of St. Augustine Dinner Auction for 25 years. He served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; two sons, Scott Burger of Scott City and Adam (Melissa) Burger of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Tamara (Chris) Crider of Scott City; eight grandchildren, Libby (Ben Clark) Burger, Becky (Dakota) Nelson, Madison Burger, Catie and Cora Campbell, Caitlyn Cotner, Zach (Chelsi) Cotner and Andrew “AJ” Hayden; five great grandchildren, Adalynn Nelson, Joshua, Ryliegh and Zoey Stevens and Zaylen Cotner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Carl and Virgie Throop and a brother, Charles Burger.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. KC service will be at 7:00 pm
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso with Rev. Mark Binder as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Kelso.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Safe House for Women of Cape Girardeau or American Cancer Society.
