Rodney Dennis Miller

Rodney Dennis Miller, son of the late Robert “Clifford” Miller and Edith Mae Foster Miller was born on March 8, 1951 in Cairo, Illinois and departed his life on Friday, August 20, 2021 at his residence in Benton, Missouri at the age of 70.

Mr. Miller retired after 35 years from St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri as a Supply Technician, member of the Knights of Columbus #6420 in Scott City, Missouri, and a member of the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, Missouri.

On September 2, 1972 he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Backfisch.  Mrs. Miller survives of the home in Benton.

Besides his wife other survivors include one son, Joshua Alan Miller of Joplin, Missouri; one daughter Judy Carol Miller of Columbia, Missouri; three brothers, Carl (Mary) Miller of Wendell, North Carolina, James (Jerri) Miller of Tamms, Illinois, and Sidney (Cora) Miller of Olive Branch, Illinois; by one sister, Lea Ann (Jim) Bledsoe of Olive Branch, Illinois; also by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.  Parish prayer service will be held at 4:15 P.M. and the Knights of Columbus service at 7:00 P.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.  Funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton with Rev. Bala Swami-Govindu officiating.  Interment will take place at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
