Robert Ressel

Robert J. Ressel, 81, of Kelso, MO. passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born May 18, 1939 at Kelso, MO., son of Arnold C. and Genevieve Opal Menz Ressel.

Robert married Betty L. LeGrand on August 15, 1970 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, MO.

Bob attended St. Mary's Catholic High School and was a member of the National Guard.  He retired from Drury Company after 42 years.  He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his buddies "trying to solve world problems" at the former Kelso Kwik Stop. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by Betty, the love of his life, three children, Tamara "Tammy" (Shawn) Fox of Advance, Mo., Donna Ressel (Fiancé Anthony) of Sikeston, Mo., and Robert "Bobby" (Crystie)Ressel of Sikeston, Mo.  Grandchildren, Katie Rose and Charlie Ressel, Zachary Loveless, Emma and Ethan Fox.

Survivors also include three brothers, Edward, Thomas (Corena) and Kenneth (Linda) Ressel, all of Kelso, Mo.  Three sisters, Helen (AJ) Schott of Kelso, Mo., Mary Jane (Bruce) Raines of Scott City, Mo., and Mary Jo Ressel of Cape Girardeau, Mo., one brother-in-law, Les Enderle of Poplar Bluff and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Ressel of Cape Girardeau, Mo as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by two brothers, Florian and Harry Ressel, and three sisters, Rosemary Diebold, Kathleen Job, and Patsy Enderle.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, Mo. with Rosary at 7 P.M. followed by the Knights of Columbus prayers.

Visitation will also be at 8 A.M. on Wednesday with Rosary at 9:30 and Funeral Mass at 10 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant.
