Robert Eugene Hester

Robert Eugene Hester, son to the late John Rossell and Eula Marie (Schearf) Hester was born on May 20, 1934 in Delta, Missouri and departed this life to be with the Lord on August 19, 2022 in Tunica, Mississippi at the age of 88 years. He proudly served in the US Air Force both domesticity and overseas for over 20 years until his retirement in 1975. He then worked for the City of Clovis and the State of New Mexico as a carpenter, building inspector and traffic systems tech until his retirement in 1993. He loved God, his family and his country. He loved traveling and working with his hands and mind to create beauty and was always ready help others to repair problems that seemed insurmountable to them. He is survived by his bride of 66 years, Patricia Ann Earls and two brothers, John A. (Deloris) Hester of Highland Illinois and Donald D. (Janet) Hester of Delta Missouri. He is also survived by his son, Richard Lynn (Lea) Hester of Denison, Texas. Three Grandchildren, Hailey M. Hester of Sherman, Texas; Erick J. Castille (Lauren) of New York City, New York; Jennifer L. (Tom) Kennedy of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two great granddaughters, Lily and Willow Kennedy of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Argalee Hester who was born in 1936 in Delta and died in 1949. Visitation will be on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral service will then be conducted at 11:00 am with Rev. Earl Elfrink officiating. Interment will follow at Kenyon Cemetery, near Delta, Missouri.
