He was born on Nov. 19, 1945 in Cape Girardeau to late Boyd "Dick" and Hattie Allen Slinkard.
Richard was a retired florist with Sweetheart Florist in Jackson and a waiter for Ramada Inn in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the Whitewater United Methodist Church in Whitewater.
He is survived by three nephews, Jeff Slinkard , Mark (Julie) Slinkard both of Whitewater; Chris (Amy) Slinkard of Cape Girardeau; four great nieces, Amanda, Ashleigh, Andrea and Makenzie Slinkard; a great-nephew, Ryan Slinkard; two great-great-nieces, Raylyn Amos and Kynleigh Moake; sister-in-law, Carol Slinkard of Whitewater.
He was preceded in death by, a brother, Donald Slinkard.
Friends may call after 11:00 am until time of service on Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Whitewater United Methodist Church in Whitewater.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm at the Whitewayer United Methodist Church in Whitewater with Rev. Don Kuehle officiating. Burial will be at the Whitewater United Methodist Church Cemetery in Whitewater.
