Rhonda Emerson

Rhonda Emerson was a caring wife, mother, memaw, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Southeast Healthcare Medical Center Emergency Room in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 69 years.  She was the daughter of the late William Harmon and Evelyn Goodman Harmon and was born on September 25, 1953 in Chaffee, Missouri.

She was a former employee of Columbia Sportswear in Chaffee for several years and a graduate of Chaffee High School.  Rhonda was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church in Chaffee and a resident of Chaffee.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends but the pride and joy of her life was her four grandsons that she loved so dearly.

On October 21, 1972 she was united in marriage to Jim Emerson in Chaffee, Missouri.  Mr. Emerson survivors of the home in Chaffee.  They recently celebrated their 50 ^th wedding anniversary.

Besides her husband, survivors include two daughters, Jaimie Emerson of Chaffee and Tyree (Jeremy) Chapman of Chaffee; also, by her four grandsons, Logan Chapman, Ryder Chapman, Sawyer Chapman, and Asher Emerson.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald Harmon; by five sisters, Peggy Curd, Dona Smith, Francis Slinkard, Elizabeth Cummins, and Carletta Streeter.

Rhonda was always involved with her grandsons activities.  From watching a performance, attending a sporting event or even just setting around the table, she was most happiest by their sides.  Rhonda also enjoyed shopping with her daughters and going for drives with her husband Jim.  They will all miss her beyond words.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.   A family funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.  Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery.
