Raymond Baugh Rowell

Raymond Baugh Rowell, son to the late Rosker and Myrtle Jones Rowell was born on Sept. 21, 1925 in Ardmore, Tennessee and departed this life on January 25, 2022 at Phelps Health in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 96 years

He married Ethel Lee Steakley on Dec. 6, 1947. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2014.

Raymond was the Chief of police in Chaffee, Missouri form 1964-1971. He worked as Administrator for Chaffee Public Works until retirement. He was a member of the General Baptist Church and a member of the Chaffee Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by a daughter, Florence “Sugar” (George “Rusty”) McBride of St. Robert, Missouri; a granddaughter, Sammye (Kevin) Lawson of Dixion, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Becky (Jordan) Wilson, Tyler Lawson and Jake Lawson and a great-great granddaughter, Gracelynn Wilson.

Other than his parents and wife he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Sunday January 30, 2022 at Chaffee General Baptist Church. Additional visitation will be on Monday from 9:00 – 10:00 am at the church.

Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10:00 am at Chaffee General Baptist Church with Revs. Bob Lewis and Donny Ford officiating. Interment will be at Oddfellow Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri.
