Phillip “GENE” Schearf

Gene Schearf, son on the late Philp Ludwig Schearf and Myrtle Amelia Stoffregen Schearf was born on September 28, 1925 in Delta, Missouri and departed this life on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at his residence in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 94 years.

Mr. Schearf was a former Heavy Equipment Operator, Farmer, and retired from the Labor Union in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Gene was a member of the Delta General Baptist Church, a former resident of Delta, and was currently residing in Sikeston.

On September 28, 1925 he was united in marriage to Enid Alice Campbell in Chaffee, Missouri. Mrs. Schearf survives of the home in Sikeston.

Besides his wife, survivors include one daughter, Cindy Lynne Schearf (Mitchell) of Sikeston; two brothers, Elmer Schearf (Judy) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Alvin Schearf (Maebell) of Delta; one sister, Mildred Campbell of St. Louis; sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Belinda Schearf; two sister in laws, Virginia Schearf and Onita Schearf, one brother-in-law, Wesley Cambell (Carolyn).

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Garry Schearf; one daughter, Susan Kay Criddle and son-in-law John Criddle; grandson, Christopher Lynn Schearf; by four brothers, Levis Schearf, Lloyd Schearf, Glen Edward Schearf, and Donald Schearf, and one brother-in-law, Lynuel Campbell.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Randy Conn and Rev. Luke Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the Morley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Delta, 591 N Liberty St, Delta, MO 63744.
