Peter Coonts

Pietro “Peter” Dylan Coonts, 29 of Scott City, Missouri died January 16, 2022 in Cape Girardeau County.  He was born February 14, 1992 in Springvalley, Illinois to Porcopio Alfano and Linda Coonts.

Peter was a tree climber for Advanced Tree Service.   He loved climbing, nature, hunting, fishing, cooking, and loved to live life.  He always had the best stories and could always make you laugh.

He would always say “there’s no day better than yesterday” and “there’s a snake in my boot and I’m Mark Twain down”.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Linda (Stan) Gentry of Scott City; four sisters, Sarah Coonts of Cape Girardeau, Anna Coonts of Scott City, Phyllis Heredia of Springfield, Missouri and Angela Larson of Ottawa, Illinois; a stepbrother, Rob Gentry of Louisberg, Kansas and companion, Tami Stockman.

He was a wonderful son, brother, friend and stepfather to Kurt, Kyle and Kevin.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm on Thursday until the time of service at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday at the chapel with Rev. Randy Morse officiating.
