Peggy Louise Whorton

Peggy Louise Whorton, daughter of the late Paul Brindley and Geneva Lois Cummins Brindley was born on May 20, 1940 in Charleston, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the St. Sophia Health and Rehab Center in Florissant, Missouri at the age of 81 years.

Mrs. Whorton was affiliated with the Baptist Church in Oran and a member of Parents as Teachers Association at Lewis and Clark Elementary when her children were young.  She was on a bowling league at Spencer’s Bowling Alley at River Roads Mall, avid AVON collector, and a resident of Florissant, Missouri.

On October 9, 1955 she was united in marriage to Aubrey “Jack” Whorton in Tanner, Missouri.  Mr. Whorton preceded her in death on April 28, 2004.

Survivors include one son, Ricky (Sally) Whorton; three daughters, Bonita (Bryan) Boston, Paula Menzel, and Cheryl (Craig) Politte; by two brothers, Kenneth (Ruth) Brindley and Larry (Lucy) Brindley; by ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lonnie Brindley and by one daughter, Debbie Madigan; also, by one granddaughter, Raechel Menzel; and by one son-in-law, Darryl Menzel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 10 until 12:00 noon at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.  Funeral arrangements will then be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Forrest Hills Cemetery near Morley, Missouri.
