Patrick Dean Young

Patrick Dean Young, son of the late Delbert Dean Young, and Barbara (Howell) Tyler was born June 13, 1961 in Flint, Michigan and departed this life on November 24, 2021 at his home in Oran, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 60. Through his faith in God during his 14-year battle with brain cancer, he and the family have been loved by their Cape Bible Chapel Church family, friends and Oran Community.

Patrick’s personality came out in his creation of the Oran Eagles Blog. He continued his love for Oran baseball through his on-air broadcasting and the teams rewarded him with 2 State Championships.

In addition to his love for Oran sports, he also served the school through multiple terms with the Oran School Board. Patrick’s work history began with the crew at Schnuck’s in college completing with a BA in communications at SEMO. This led to his 17-year career in police dispatch, starting with Cape PD, St. Pete Florida PD, Boulder Colorado PD ending with Scott County Sheriff’s Department, also serving a short term as the director of the Scott County Management.

Patrick and Janice Barton were united in marriage on May 5, 1990 in Jackson, Missouri. Jan survives of the home. He was a devoted husband of 31+ years and a loving dad of three and grandpa of three.

Also surviving are one son: Matthew Young of Hermann, Missouri; two daughters: Emily (Matt) Burke of Oran, Missouri, Amanda Young (Gojko) of St. Louis, Missouri; brother: Clint Tyler of Benton, Missouri; sister Sabrina (Jason) Pobst of Oran, Missouri, three grandchildren: Ryan, Allison, and Josie Burke; mother-in-law, Carol Barton; brother-in-law, Keith (Angie) Barton of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Denise Greenacre of Colorado; Lisa (Stephen) Gaither of Kansas, as well as many nieces & nephews.

Apart from his parents, he was proceeded in death by his step-dad, Jim Tyler; father-in-law, Arnold Barton; and brother-in-law, Jim Greenacre and loving uncle and aunt John and “Patsy Lou” Uptain.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Friend Cemetery in Oran, Missouri.
