Patricia Ann Schott, 84, of New Hamburg, Missouri, passed away Tuesday September 24, 2024, surrounded by family at the Chaffee Nursing Center. She was born July 8, 1940, in New Hamburg, MO to the late Leon and Mary Kosciulek Glastetter. She and Melvin P. Schott were married June 21, 1958, and celebrated 66 years together.

After raising her sixth child through kindergarten, she decided to attend college. She graduated with honors in 1978 from Southeast Missouri State University with a double major in Elementary Education and Library Science. She taught Kindergarten and served as the Librarian at Kelso C-7 School District in New Hamburg, MO until her retirement. She then worked part-time as a librarian at the Public Library in Benton, MO.

Pat was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg and served as an organist for many years. She was also a member of the St. Ann’s Sodality, the New Hamburg Extension Club, and the New Hamburg Homemakers Club.

Patricia is survived by her husband Melvin Schott Sr. of New Hamburg; five daughters, Julie (Bill) Senciboy of Oran, MO; Lisa (Chris) Seib of Sunset Hills, MO; Valerie Jones of Colorado Springs, CO; Rose Shafer of Cape Girardeau, MO; and Brenda (Glenn) Gray of Jackson, MO; one son Melvin (Deborah) Schott Jr. of New Hamburg, MO; two brothers Gene Glastetter of Paducah, KY, and Jim Glastetter of St. Peters, MO; one sister Virginia Wiedefeld of Cape Girardeau, MO; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leon and Mary Glastetter; two sisters Dolores Hileman and Carolyn Heeley; one grandson Blake Jones; one great-grandson Caden French; and a grand-daughter-in-law Megan Pridemore.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the St. Lawrence Parrish Center in New Hamburg from 4:00 until 7:00 with a Rosary Prayer service at 6:00 P.M..   Visitation will resume on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 8:30 until 9:30 AM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.  Family Eulogy will begin at 9:45 AM at the St. Lawrance Catholic Church in New Hamburg with the Eucharistic Celebration to follow at 10:00 AM conducted by Rev. Daniel Belken.  Interment will take place in the St. Lawrance Catholic Cemetery.
