Pamela Melissa Pobst

Melissa Pobst, daughter of  Katherine “Nadine” Bacchus Phillips of Oran, Missouri and the late Sherman “VIC” Phillips was born on December 3, 1954 in Elgin, Illinois and departed her life peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 69 years.

She was a 1972 graduate of Oran High School and a resident of Oran.  Melissa was the owner and operator of M & M Upholstery in Oran and former Oran City Clerk.  She was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church.

On June 16, 1973 she was united in marriage to Melvin Andrew Pobst in Oran.  She is survived by her husband who resides in their family home  in Oran.

Other survivors include two sons, David Andrew Pobst of Oran and Matthew Douglas Pobst of Chaffee; two brothers, Rick Phillips of Benton and Rodney Phillips of Oran; four grandchildren, Taylor, Drew, Madison, and Jayden; also, by other relatives and many friends.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father,  one brother, Larry Phillips,  and one granddaughter, Kaylea.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM with prayer services at 4:00 in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran.  Eucharistic celebration will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Guardian Angel Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kelly officiating.  Interment will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
