Novella Howell

Novella Howell, daughter of the late David Guy and Ollie Slinkard was born on May 02, 1924 in Allenville, Missouri and stepped into the presence of her lord and savior on Thursday, January 26, 2022 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 97 years.

Mrs. Howell enjoyed playing rummy with her best friend Margaret Cahill, attending and singing at church with Pastor Dan Chaney giving her a ride every Sunday. Playing Bingo, and enjoying family gatherings at the ole Borneman homestead.

She is survived by one daughter: Karen (William) O’Connor of Saint Charles, Missouri; one sister: Jane Klaus of Jackson, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Cindy (AJ) Kelley, Tim (Teresa) Borneman, Danny Borneman, Denny (Michaela) Borneman, Brian (Andella) O’Connor, Laura (Matt) Latall, DeeAnna Sikes, Justin (Kristy) Borneman, Stacy Borneman; sixteen great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Apart from her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands: William M. Borneman, and Harvey Howell; two sons: William M. Borneman Jr., Guy E. Borneman; three sisters; and five brothers.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.  Funeral services will then be conducted at 12:00 P.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Chaney officiating.  Interment will follow at the McGuire Cemetery in Burfordville, Missouri.
