Norma Lee Evans, daughter of the late James Paul and Eda Irenie Robbins Jones was born on February 3, 1927 in Chaffee, Missouri and departed this life on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Delmar Gardens Meramec Valley in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 93.
Norma lived many years in the St. Louis, Missouri area before retiring to Chaffee. She was a licensed hairdresser and a longtime member of the First Baptist church of Chaffee. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign War, and S.O.S. Clubs.
On December 8, 1941 she was united in marriage to Ottis Walter Evans Sr. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Ottis (Janet) Evans Jr.; four siblings, Ann Isbell, Jim (Barb) Jones, Marilyn (Carlton) Hunt and William (Maria) Jones; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Wayne (Annetta) Evans and Jimmy Dale (Carol) Evans; six siblings; Wanda (Evans) Ryan, Carl Jones, Earl (Marie) Jones, Glenda (Carl) Good, Doris (Jim) Ward and Bobby Jones.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 10:00 until 2:00 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Funeral services will then be conducted on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee with Rev. Josh Boley officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
