Nancy Jewell Caldwell, daughter of the late Herman Charles and Jewell Mildred (Owens) Graves was born September 23, 1938 in Litchfield, Illinois and departed this life on July 2, 2021 at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 82.
She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Scott City, Missouri. Nancy was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Scott City, Missouri. She taught P.E. at S.C. School for 30 years but was known as the “St. Jude’s Lady” Fundraising for St. Jude’s was a passion for her!
On June 9, 1962 she was united in marriage to Charles Larry Caldwell, who proceeded her in death on February 20, 2008.
She is survived by one daughter: Karen (Paul) Dirnberger of Oran, Missouri; one sister: Charlotte Kay Knupp of Scott City, Missouri; three grandsons: Jordan (Robyn) Dirnberger, Jake (Hannah) Dirnberger, Jared (Kara) Dirnberger; three great-grandchildren: Rylan, Hadley and Bridger; two nephews: Sean (Markie) Knupp and Scott (Karen) Knupp.
Visitation will be on Wednesday July 7, 2021 from 5:00pm until 8:00 pm at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral will be on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 10:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Woods officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Missouri. In-Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; and Broadway United Methodist Church, 1400 Broadway Street, Scott City, Missouri 63780.
