Montene Watkins

Montene Watkins, daughter of the late Howard and Linnie Lockhart was born February 21, 1942 in Clinton, Arkansas and departed this life on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at her residence in Oran, Missouri at the age of 79 years.

On June 16, 1961she married Johnny Watkins, he preceded her in death on September 27, 2007.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by one son: Johnny (Lisa) Watkins Jr. of Benton, Missouri; two daughters: Debbie (Leroy “Topper”) Buell of Oran, Missouri, Amanda Watkins of Oran, Missouri; one brother: Bill Lockhart of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; four grandchildren: Roy Buell, Tina Buell-Trost, Lacee Romas, Chase Watkins; nine great-grandchildren: Charley, Piper, Landon, Bronson, Brady, Addie, Rylan, Reese, and Remee.

Apart form her parents, Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Lockhart, Welton Lockhart, James Lockhart; three sisters: Betty McAnnelly, Geraldine Lewis, Athlene Bogel.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of service at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Missouri. Funeral will follow at Noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Jackson officiating. Burial will be at the Forest Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery in Morley, Missouri. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Southeast Hospice and their staff for the amazing care they provided.
