Mildred Alene Tramel Moudy, daughter of the late Cecil Tramel and Ruby (Dollman) Tramel was born on September 11, 1931, in Belleville, Arkansas. She went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri, at the age of 92 years.
High school sweethearts, she, and Bobby Tom (B.T.) Moudy married on October 27, 1950, in Belleville, Arkansas. Mildred was his right hand as they journeyed through dental school and co-founded B.T. Moudy Dental Office in Chaffee, Missouri. She worked as business manager, receptionist, and dental assistant for 40 of the 58 years the practice served the Chaffee area. Dr. Moudy survives of the home in Chaffee.
A member of the First Baptist Church in Chaffee, Mildred lived her Christian faith.
She loved her Southern Gospel music, her beautiful garden of peonies, buttercups, forsythia, and irises, and Jesus. An accomplished seamstress, Mildred created wardrobes for her four daughters, with many of the outfits later fashioned into squares quilted by her mother.
Gathering family and friends was one of her great joys. She hosted ample feasts for holidays and made birthdays special. Her cinnamon rolls and Thanksgiving cornbread dressing were legendary. One of her greatest gifts was encouraging those she met to be their best and trust God. Romans 8:28 was her life verse, knowing that all things work together for good to those who love God, and are called according to His purpose.
Besides her husband, survivors include four daughters, Donna (Tom) Turpin of Chaffee, Betty (David) Dorn of Scott City, Karen (Steven) Whitaker of Chaffee, and Nancy Moudy of Louisville, Kentucky; by one brother, Carl (Joan) Tramel of Lawrence, Kansas; four grandchildren who affectionately called her Mema, Bret (Karen White) Whitaker, Stefanie (Jordan) Hall, Jake Turpin (Karissa Hoecherl), and Matt Turpin (Sarah Griffith); four great-grandchildren, Maverick Hall, Landry Hall, Owen Whitaker, and Everley Mae Turpin.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Tramel; one sister, Amrita Thompson; and one great-grandson, Brycen Turpin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with Rev. Josh Boley officiating.
