Mike L. Mantel

Mike Mantel, son of the late Carl William and Novella Bell (McClure) Mantel was born on December 23, 1944 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed his life on November 1, 2024 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 79 years.

He was a former employee for the City of Chaffee until his retirement, member of the First Baptist Church in Chaffee, and a resident of Chaffee.

On March 1, 1969 he was united in marriage to Reta Lou Townsend. She passed away on February 15, 2019.

Survivors include one son, William Michael (Tina) Mantel of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Barbara Arnold of Chaffee; also, by many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, C.E. Mantel; by two sisters, Maretta Gilmer and Bonnie Rister.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Chaffee.  Funeral services will then be conducted at 11:00 AM with Rev. Josh Boley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
