Michael "Mick" Short

Michael “Mick” Short, son of the late Frank and Verna Mae (Rogers) Short was born on September 24, 1958 in Bonne Terre, Missouri and departed his life on Friday, April 21, 2023 at his residence in Scott City, Missouri at the age of 64 years.

Mr. Short was a loving brother who was very family oriented. He enjoyed his work as a owner and operator of Mickey’s Trucking and in his spare time enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and tinkering with his old cars.

He is survived by three brothers Raymond (Kathy) Short of DeSoto, Missouri, Mark (Carol) Short of Jackson, Missouri, Robert (Cammy) Short of Scott City, Missouri; two sisters: Marie Short and Sue Mouser, both of Scott City, Missouri; four nephews: Scott Sappington, Zach Short, Drew Short, Chris Short; four nieces: Lisa Miget, Renee Sappington, Sydney Short, Mary Short; and five great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 8:30 am until 10:45am at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral Mass will then be conducted at 11:00 am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Entombment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Scott City, Missouri at a later date.
