Merle "Trey" Ray Hopper Iii

Merle “Trey” Hopper III, son of Merle “Ray” Hopper II and Evelyn (Rhymer) Mosley was born on September 27, 1995 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed his life on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the age of 29.

On September 1, 2018 he was united in marriage to Ciera Deffendall in Scott City.  Ciera survives of the home in Delta.

Trey was a graduate of Scott County Central, employed at Marquette Transportation Company as a relief captain on the C. Michael Reeves, and a resident of Delta. He was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Besides his wife and parents, survivors include one son, Merle Ray “Finn” Hopper IV, daughter, Sawyer McKenzie Hopper, one brother, William Tran Hopper, one sister, Keara McKenzie Hopper; parental grandparents, Merle (Verneda) Hopper Sr., and maternal grandmother, Hazel Rhymer; also, by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.  Funeral services will then be conducted at 6:00 PM in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
