Melonie Ann Phillips

Melonie Wehmeyer Phillips, daughter of Peggy Wehmeyer Kennedy of Randles, Missouri and the late Larry Wehmeyer was born on October 27, 1972 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 47.

Melonie was a homemaker, a 1991 graduate of Delta High School where she made many life long friends that dearly loved her. She enjoyed nights of Karaoke with her friends singing her favorite songs of Reba and Patsy. Melonie was also an online writer publishing short stories. Her passion was being a mother to her children.

On September 14, 2002 she was united in marriage to Bobby Gene Phillips in Delta, Missouri. Mr. Phillips preceded her in death on January 25, 2017.

Besides her mother, Peggy Kennedy, she is survived by step-father, James Kennedy of Randles; step-mother, Linda Proctor of Benton; one son, Isaac Phillips of Benton; one daughter, Sarah Phillips of Benton; three brothers, Jason Kennedy of Randles, James (Audrey) Kennedy of Patton, Missouri, and Shannon (Amanda) Dow of Scott City; two sisters, Lisa Kennedy Manuel of Advance and Ladonna Kennedy of Jackson; by paternal grandmother, JoAnn Wehmeyer of Thebes, Illinois; also by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and father, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Betty and Don Hanebrink; paternal grandfather, Melvin Wehmeyer.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral service will then be conducted on Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri at 1:00 P.M. on Monday.
