Melissa Kurgas

Melissa Gale Kurgas, 47 of Scott City, Missouri died on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born October 29, 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri to Otto and Cherie G. Young Kurgas.

She worked as a EMT and CNA in nursing homes in Kansas City and Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of Father’s Arms Fellowship where she was active with children’s ministries, puppet ministry, signing to songs, projection and office work volunteer.

She is survived by her father, Otto Kurgas of Fredericktown, Missouri; a son, Zechariah Kurgas of Jackson; three brothers, Bill (Joyce) Kurgas of Owensville, Missouri, John (Diane) Kurgas of Troy, Missouri and Brian (Aimee) Kurgas of Fredericktown; a sister, Denisa (Bob) Holland of Pleasant Lake, Michigan and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cherie Kurgas.

Memorial visitation will be from 11:00 and until the time of service on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Father’s Arms Fellowship.

Memorial service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday at the church with Revs. Ken & Nancy Strong officiating.
