Mary June Simmons, of Chaffee, Missouri, daughter of the late Rev. Watis Harrell and Pauline Chance, was born February 23, 1942 in Brownwood, Missouri and departed this life on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Hunter Acres Nursing home in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 79 years.
Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Assembly of God church in Chaffee, Missouri. She loved to cook, was very active in her church, never met a stranger and was an all-around loving person.
On January 21, 1960 she married Charles Franklin Simmons in Chaffee, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1992.
She is survived by one son: Timothy (Sandra) Simmons of Kelso, Missouri; two daughters: Tana (James) Crapnell of Cleveland, Texas, Tara Simmons of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters: Velma Watcher of Saint Clair, Missouri, Rosetta Kinder of Scott City, Missouri, Sandy (Fred) Mauer of Mount Vernon, Illinois; one brother: Fred (Pam) Harrell of Chaffee, Missouri; one grandson: Chase Simmons; four granddaughters: Katessa Dame, Lachelle Bucher, Brittany Blankenship, Keri Blankenship; and five great-grandchildren.
Apart from her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Terry Simmons.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00am on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri. Funeral will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Brother Joseph Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at the Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City, Missouri
