Mary Ellen Culbertson

Mary Ellen Culbertson, daughter of the late Oliver Thomas “O.T.” Finley and Myrtle Fern Stephens Finley was born on August 14, 1935 in Scott County, Missouri and departed this life on Wednesday January 15, 2020 at her residence in Chandler, Indiana at the age of 84 years.

Mrs. Culbertson was a homemaker, member of the Cypress Baptist Church in Booneville, Indiana and a former resident of Scott City, Missouri.

On December 1, 1951 she was united in marriage to Jesse Paul Culbertson, Sr. in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Culbertson preceded her in death on June 28, 2004.

Survivors include three sons, Jesse Culbertson Jr. (Beth) Franklin, Illinois; Gary Culbertson (Becky), of Booneville, Indiana, Dale Keith Culbertson (Maria), Springdale, Arkansas; two daughters, Paula Dolanski (Bob), Barling, Arkansas and Sharron Phillips (Wayne) of Tamms, Illinois;   by three brothers, Steve Finley, Tom Finley and Larry Finley all of Scott City, three sisters, Bobbie Gipson of Marshfield, Missouri, Margaret Gott and Beverly ‘Kay” Cotton both of Scott City;   by eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Finley and Jerry Finley.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 20, 2020 10:00 A.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City with Dr. Daryl Jessie officiating. Interment will follow in the Lightner Cemetery.
