Martha "Catherine" Young

Catherine Young, daughter of the late John Pearl and Martha (Snouwaert) Pearl was born on February 7, 1936 in Attica, Indiana and departed her life on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 87 years.

She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.

On October 15, 1955 she was united in marriage to Morris D. Young in Attica, Indiana.  Mr. Young preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, John Young of Benton and Michael (Lisa) Young of Cleveland, Missouri; one daughter, Cathy (Tom) Blattel of New Hamburg; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, David and Steve Young; three brothers, Gerald Pearl, Jack Pearl, and Tom Pearl; five sisters, Helen Haddock, Jean Brickler, Norma Pearl, Pat Pearl, and Margaret Leath.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December, 16, 2023 from 8:30 until 9:45 AM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Benton.  Funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 am at the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton with Father Daniel Belken officiating.  Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Morley.
