Martha Byassee

Martha Lou Holder Byassee, 79 of Scott City died Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at her home.  She was born September 26, 1942 in Anderson, Indiana to Robert and Doris Adams O’Bryant.  She married Norman Otto Holder on April 11, 1959 and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1995. She later married James Byassee on December 12, 1997 and he also preceded her in death on March 6, 2006.

She worked for Scott City Schools as a cook and custodian.  She attended the Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City.

She is survived by a son, Robert (Kathy Nall) Holder of Benton, Missouri; a daughter, Sheri Rister of Scott City; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Holder; grandchildren, Amber (Ricky Wilson) Comer, Jordon (Karie) Comer, Jamie (Chey Grillo) Holder, Jody Rister, Megan Wonsewitz, Samantha (Adam Haverstick), Jessie (Kassie Holmes) Deal, Paige (Joel St. John) Holder; great grandchildren, Bailee & Braidyn Rister, Kylea (Mason Chilton) Lawson, MJ Myers, Chance Wilson, Halle & Harper Comer, Ashlynn & Mackenzie Holder, Audrey Scherer, Alaina & Layla Haverstick, Kayson Jo Deal, Daeghan and Delayni  St. John, Wyatt Clinton and Blake Holder.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Norman Holder, Jr.; a daughter, Sandy Comer; a brother, Robert O’Bryant and two grandchildren, Cody & Robert Christopher Holder.

Memorial visitation will be held from 6:00- 8:00 pm on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Memorial service will be at 8:00 pm on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 at the chapel with Rev. Randy Morse officiating.
