Mark Stephen Rhodes

Mark Stephen Rhodes passed away at his home in Chaffee, Missouri recently. He was born May 13, 1955 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Ann and William Rhodes, who predecease him, as did his grandparents, Margaret and John C. Rhodes of Chaffee, and Velma and William Friar of Blytheville, Arkansas. He is also predeceased by his older brother Ralph Michael Rhodes in 2001. He spent his childhood in Chaffee, graduating from Chaffee High School in 1973. Mark was a U. S. Navy veteran, and served as a nuclear reactor operator on fleet ballistic missile submarines. Following his military service, he worked at Ameren Missouri for many years as a welder. He married Brenda Hitt of Jackson, Missouri on May 25, 1985, and later became a father to Amanda Kristine Rhodes of Kansas City, MO and Stephanie Ann-Louise Rhodes of St. Louis, MO, who made him proud every single day of his life thereafter. Mark is survived by his daughters, his sister, Laura Nurnberg (Carl) of Ellisville, Missouri; two brothers, Jon Rhodes (Carole) of Columbia, Missouri and Bill Rhodes of Chaffee.
