Marion Pemberton

Marion Dawn Pemberton, daughter of the late P.C. McIlroy and Sue (Bone) McIlroy was born on January 25, 1935 in Mississippi County and departed her life Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 88.

Mrs. Pemberton was a former manager at Gas-A-Mart Convenience Store in East Prairie, Missouri.  She was a resident of Scott City formally of East Prairie.

On January 8, 1951 she was united in marriage to Charles T. Pemberton in Anniston, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on November 4, 2013.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela (Ed) Barton of Scott City and Kathy Pavatt of Sheridan, Wyoming; two brothers, Kenny McIlory of Glen Carbon, Illinois and Mikey McIlory of Charleston, Missouri; four sisters, Janet Greer of East Praire, Doris Ann Chappel of Huntsville, Alabama, Carolyn Hooten of Gideon, Missouri, and Barbie Hopgood of Murray, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Michael Parker (Melissa), Christy Parker (Gabe), Amanda Russell (John), Jessie Barton (Matthew), Beth Hunter (Thomas), and Spencer Pavatt; four great-grandchildren with one on the way; also, by four great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Brack; one brother, Bubby McIlory; by one sister, Bennie McTigue; and by one great-grandchild.

Celebration of life service will be conducted at a later date.  Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapels assisting with arrangements.
