Melissa Barks

Melissa Kaye Barks passed away at home on Wednesday morning September 25, 2024.

Melissa was born on September 30, 1974 to Bill W. Barks and Carolyn Barks Lee.

She graduated in 1992 from Jackson High School in Jackson, Missouri. She also attended Southeast Missouri State University.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill W. Barks in January of this year.

Her surviving relatives are her son, Jackson W. Martin of Scott City, mother Carolyn Lee of Cape Girardeau, sister Amy Sams and brother-in-law Brian Sams of Jackson.

Also surviving is Debbie Wengert of the home. Debbie was very special to Melissa as a mother figure and caregiver. They were bonded for life through the love they both had for Melissa’s father, Bill Barks.

Amick Burnett in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.

There will not be a service.

Immediate family and friends will celebrate Melissa’s life at a later date.

If you so choose, donations can be made for Melissa’s only son/child, Jackson Martin, age 16, to his 529 College Savings Plan in care of Edward Jones.
