Luther “Luke” Bruton Boyette died peacefully on March 12th, 2023 in Coral Springs, Florida at the age of 87. Luke is survived by his son Brad Boyette of Coral Springs, Florida, married to Stacey and their children Steven, Adam, Tyler, Curtis, and Grace. His daughter Jodi Boyette-Church, of East Moline, Illinois, and her daughter Brooke Boyette-Foltz. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Peggy, as well as late son Stacey Boyette. Luke and Peggy have six grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his father Hugh Boyette, his mother Eunice Boyette, his five brothers and two sisters. Luke was born on April 6, 1935, in Sicily Island, Louisiana to Hugh and Eunice Boyette. He graduated from Lake Providence High school and earned a degree in Electrical Maintenance. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for three years and five years in the Naval Reserves. After his honorable discharge he moved to Rockford Illinois and worked for Commonwealth Edison as an Electrical Maintenance Manager. He and his wife retired to Sikeston, Missouri in 1994 and then moved to Coral Springs, Florida in 2022. He is remembered as a man who loved Jesus, his wife, his family, and his country. Luke was known for his positive attitude and often would be referred to as the “nicest man you would ever want to meet.” A funeral is scheduled for March 31, 2023, 4:30 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Benton, Missouri, with a graveside service immediately following. Luke’s grandson, Pastor Tyler Boyette will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Luke’s life.
