Lucille Schmitt

Lucille Schmitt, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Ourth) Wolfe was born on March 28, 1925 in Rockview, Missouri and departed her life on Monday, October 14, 2024 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 99 years.

On December 12, 1942 she was united in marriage to Erwin “Butch” Schmitt in Chaffee, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on September 28, 1991.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Schmitt of Chaffee, Dennis Schmitt of Cape Girardeau, and Earl Schmitt of Gordonville; two daughters, Anna Smith of Cape Girardeau and Brenda Shelton of Jackson, Missouri; one sister, Stella Tweedy of Chaffee;  twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the St. Ambrose Cemetery in Chaffee.  Interment will follow.
