Louis Braun

Louis Joseph Braun, Jr., 97 of Scott City, Missouri died Monday, May 9, 2022 at his home. He was born February 28, 1925 in Covington, Louisiana to Louis Joseph and Alice Sophie Dunn Braun, Sr. He married Evelyn Maria Mirgaux on February 9, 1946. He worked for Maquette Cement Company. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, VFW in Scott City, Men’s Club of Church and St. Joseph School Board. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in World War II. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of Scott City; two sons, Michael (Rhonda) Braun and John (Donna) Braun of Scott City; two daughters, Alice Braun of Scott City and Anita (Jim) Uelsmann of Benton, Missouri; a brother, John (Lynell) Braun of Pearl River, Louisiana; a sister, Shirley Manton of Folsom, Louisiana; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Larry Dumey; a grandson, Darryl Dumey and a sister, Leola Zimmer. Visitation will be from 9:30am – 11:00 am on Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. Funeral mass will be at 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.
