Lisa Dunger

Lisa Ann Dunger, of Scott City, MO, beloved by many, passed on September 5, 2020 at St Francis Hospital from her temporary earthly home to her eternal home in heaven where she met her savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. She was born in Cape Girardeau, MO to Oliver and Kathryn Loida on September 23, 1941. On March 14, 1960, she married Larry E Dunger in the Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. This union included as a central part their faith in Jesus Christ who shared their life together. They loved each other unconditionally until the completion of their vows until death do us part. She was a stay at home mother after the birth of their children, Andrea and Mark. After the children left home, she developed a passion for bowling and spent many years bowling in a league in Cape Girardeau and going to many state bowling tournaments with the bowling girls. When her health no longer allowed her to bowl, she concentrated on the needs of her local church, Broadway United Methodist Church. She had always been an active participant in the church activities, but felt a need to start a monthly church newsletter so that all the church members and former members could be informed of the church events. In her planning for the newsletter, she determined that a church directory of the membership with contact information would be of great help to the membership. She compiled and had printed a directory which was made available to all of the attendees of the church. She was an active follower of her Lord, Jesus Christ. Surviving are her husband, of 60+ years, Larry E Dunger of Scott City, daughter Andrea R Dunger of Cape Girardeau, son Mark S Dunger and wife Kerry and grandson James of Frontenac, MO, sister Olivia Kay Carroll of Mira Mesa, CA, sister-in-law Estella Barron and her daughter Marsha Haskell and husband Dale of Cape Girardeau, brother-in-law Henry A Dunger and wife Mary of St Louis, MO and their daughters Rebecca Peak and husband Clayton of Fulton, MO and Jennifer Cordia and husband Tim and children Jake, Jace and Johnhenry of Sedalia, MO, sister-in-law Sandra L Cruse and husband Larry and their daughters Laura Saunders and husband Alan and son August, Sarah Emery and husband Jay all of Carmi, IL, along with many cousins and their families. She was preceded by her parents, Oliver and Kathryn Loida, brother Kenneth and brother-in-law Errol Carroll, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Valeria Dunger, brother-in-law Hugh Barron, her grandparents, and aunts and uncles from both families. A special pair of Aunts deserves mention, Genevieve and Isabelle Loida. Also preceding her were many, many friends and fellow believers, all of who are celebrating their reunion. Her passing leaves an empty place in our hearts but joy that she is now new and whole with no suffering or pain.
