Lester Enderle, son of the late Fred Enderle and Eleanora Enderle was born on April 2, 1931 in Kelso, Missouri and departed his life on Monday, August 21, 2023 at the Westwood hills Nursing Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 92 years. Mr. Enderle graduated grade school from St. Augustine and a St. Mary’s High School graduate in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He attended Sacred Heart Church in Poplar Bluff. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Panama Canal Zone in Anti-Aircraft Artillery. Lester was a former Missouri State Highway Patrolman. He served from October 12, 1958 until retiring on May 1, 1991 after 32 years. The last eleven years, he was assigned as the pilot for Troop E. On June 6, 1959 he was united in marriage to Patricia Marie Enderle. She passed away on January 8, 1994. He was then united in marriage to Ethyle Harget on March 15, 1997. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2008. Survivors include one son, Steve (Clarinda) Enderle of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two step-sons, Michael (Gwen) Pope of O’Fallon, Missouri and James Pope of San Francisco; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two step-sons, Mark and Doug Pope by four brothers, Chester, Zeno, Clarence, and Silverius Enderle; and by one sister, Valeria McCal. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Prayer service will be at 5 pm. Funeral Mass will be at noon on Thursday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso with Rev. Tom Wilk as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery with full military honors.
