Leonard Charles Leible Jr. "Sonny"

Leonard Charles Leible, Jr. "Sonny" son of the late Leonard Charles Leible Sr. and Francis (Hahn) Leible was born on January 7, 1951 in Chaffee, Missouri and departed his life on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 73 with family by his side.

Sonny was a self-employed contractor in the Scott County and Cape Girardeau area for several years. Prior to his retirement Sonny held positions as construction superintendent at Overcash – Goodman, Trueman and Associates and Red Roof Inn where he built many nursing home facilities and hotels throughout the United States as well as an auto dealership for former auto racing driver and current team owner Bobby Rahal. Sonny assisted in construction of the Emerson Bridge and was the founder and previous owner of Frisco’s Bar in Chaffee and a member of St Ambrose Church of Chaffee, Mo.

Sonny was also a member of WarChild Riding Club of Chaffee where he was the head of the advisory board. He Built the band stage and pavilion at the rally grounds and helped a great deal with getting the WarChild clubhouse operational. He was proud and always excited about the work and support War Child does for Children and Veterans.

Survivors include one daughter Rachel Hardin of Texarkana, Arkansas; her husband Jeff and their Children Zack, Laykin and Garrett; one son, Josh Leible of Texarkana, Texas, his wife Heather and their daughters Lainey and Morgan; one brother, Tom Leible of Chaffee, Missouri his wife Jennifer; by two sisters, Carol Blanchard of Oklahoma and Rose Ryan of Michigan; also, by other relatives and several friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Cathy Ginther, Ellen Lane, and Mary Hooker.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 5:00 pm in the War Child Club House, 12122 Highway 77, Chaffee, Missouri 63740.  Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapels assisting with arrangements.
